50th Anniversary Celebration

We were thrilled to have so many people join us at our charity’s 50th anniversary celebration on June 7, 2023. Our volunteers (past and present), staff, funders, partners, and supporters made the event truly special.

The occasion provided us with an opportunity to express our immense gratitude to everyone who has worked for Citizens Advice Esher & District over the past fifty years. Their contribution has made a significant and positive impact on the lives of thousands of Elmbridge residents. Currently, our frontline advisers are assisting a record number of local people in crisis, including providing food bank referrals and emergency charitable support as living costs continue to rise.

The evening also allowed us to extend our appreciation to our generous funders and partners. Without their support, our service would not exist. As a small, independent charity, we rely on local funding and fundraising to sustain our operations. Therefore, we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing assistance.

We were honored to have Dame Clare Moriarty, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice for England and Wales, as our special guest for the evening. She spoke about the critical need for accessible and unbiased advice during this period of financial strain. Additionally, we were delighted that The Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Richard Williams, attended the event, cut our 50th anniversary cake with Clare Moriarty, and had the chance to meet some of our dedicated volunteers.
