Information for Young People
Citizens Advice launches new website for under 25s
17 November 2010
Citizens Advice has launched a new website aimed at providing support and information to under 25s.
http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/advice4me.htm
Provides advice for teenagers in Surrey (age 13 to 19 with additional help and support for young people with special needs up to the age of 25). Providing advice on education, career and training prospects, worries about personal safety, health, money, housing, drugs, alcohol, sex and personal matters.
This website aims to be the first place all young adults (16-24 year-olds) turn to when they need support and guidance through life. They believe all young people have the capacity to make their own decisions and life choices, provided they have access to high quality, impartial information and advice. We don't tell anyone how to lead their lives - we just believe everybody should have all the information they need to make their own decisions.
The site provides factsheets and articles on all the key issues facing young people including: sex and relationships; drinking and drugs; work and study; housing, legal and finances; and health and wellbeing.
http://www.do-it.org.uk. do-it.org.uk is the most diverse and comprehensive national database of volunteering opportunities in the UK. Each month, do-it.org.uk attracts an average of 35,000 visitors. Of these, 6,000 people go on to register for at least one of the opportunities listed.
