The Department for Work and Pensions

The Department for Work and Pensions leads the Government's response to some of the biggest issues facing the country - welfare and pension reform - and is a key player in tackling child poverty. It is the biggest public service delivery department in the UK and serves over 20 million customers.

The Pension Service

The Pension Service is part of the Pension, Disability and Carers Service (PDCS) which is an executive agency of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). It provides its customers with pensions, benefits and retirement information – for example, State Pension and Pension Credit.

Disability and Carers Service

The Disability and Carers Service is part of the Pension, Disability and Carers Service (PDCS) which is an executive agency of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). It provides financial support for customers claiming disability benefits and their carers – for example, Disability Living Allowance and Carer’s Allowance.

Jobcentre

Plus Jobcentre Plus is a government agency supporting people of working age from welfare into work, and helping employers to fill vacancies.

TAX AID is a charity that helps people on low incomes with their tax affairs.

TaxAid helps people on low incomes to understand the bits of the tax system that apply to them (safely ignoring the confusing 98% that don’t),  pay only the right amount of tax and help them resolve crises when things go wrong
